What areas do you service?
We conduct our services throughout South East QLD. Whether you need external cleaning North, South, East or West of Brisbane or roof cleaning on the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast, we can help you with your external cleaning needs.
How often does my roof need washing?
We recommend that roof cleaning be performed every two years. This does, however, depend on the amount of sunlight your house gets, If the property is in a damp or built up area, or has a lot of trees in close proximity to your house.
Why would I have my Roof Pressure Cleaned before painting?
Pressure Cleaning Roofs is important to the life of the paint. How long your paint stays on the roof will be due to how your roof was prepared before the paint was applied. Our processes removes any build-up of grime or mould, making a clean surface for your painter to paint on and will increase the longevity of your paint.
Why Rotory over Wand?
A rotary washer high pressure cleaning system will clean 20 inches at a time and is walked up and down the area like a lawn mower covering larger areas quicker. In comparison, a wand will only do 1-2 inches in a pass, making the cleaning much slower and less thorough and more water is used in the process.
When you use a wand pressure cleaner, it leaves minute amounts of grime behind, and when the surface you are cleaning is wet, it is very hard to tell if the job is done properly until it is completely dry.
A wand pressure cleaner also has a tendency to leave behind stripe marks when dry because of the inconsistent pressure and distance from the jet head. With the use of the rotary washer you don’t have these striped marks left behind as it is consistently applying the same high pressure over the entire area.
Do you use the Rotary method on all types of Roofs?
The same processes are used on most roof materials like Iron/Colourbond/Metal and Cement Concrete Tiles roofs. The only material we don’t use the rotary washer on is terracotta roofs.
Why are Terracotta Roofs different?
Terracotta roofs need a special process to clean them. They have what is known as “lichen” growing on them, which is difficult to remove. To combat this we spray the roof with an algaecide to kill the lichen therefore releasing its grip on the terracotta tile so it can be pressure cleaned off. This process takes much longer than a standard roof clean, and often, Terracotta roofs have a much steeper pitch.
Will my household items get wet during the house clean
They may do! To protect them you need to:
- Remove any washing from the clothesline including washing lines under sealed balconies. You may think your clothesline is far enough away however, wind can blow the cleaning solution a distance.
- Cover any outdoor furniture/belongings and or remove them from the areas that are being cleaned, including all electronics and non-waterproof items.
- Cover any outdoor power points and switches with electrical tape.
- Remove or tie up curtains and blinds if you suspect your windows leak in any way or if they are not sealed properly.
- Make sure your windows are CLOSED.
How often does my house need washing?
We recommend that external house washing be performed annually. This does however, depend on the amount of sunlight your house gets, if the property is in a damp or built up area, or has a lot of trees in close proximity to your house.
House washing is Brisbane for example should be done yearly without question due to the high humidity causing high mould growth.
What if I have allergies?
Having the external of your property cleaned regularly is the best thing for allergies. Our cleaning solutions kills mould and mildew that can cause allergy flare ups.
Why don’t you just water blast the house instead of using the cleaning solution?
High pressure cleaning on your walls and paint is too harsh! No high pressure should ever be applied to the surfaces of your house because it is too harsh on the paint and wood, not to mention that it will force water into places we don’t want it to go. Think of it like if you only hosed your car rather than scrubbed it! Physical contact is better.
Using high pressure alone does not do as good a job as using the cleaning solution nor does it remove spider webs – it can simply spread them.
High pressure will not remove mould spores entirely, it can leave reminisce behind.
Why do you recommend a pre-paint clean prior to repainting the house?
Mould is the key contributor to paint “failing” as the spores get under the paint surface and continue to grow until eventually popping off the paint and causing it to crack, lift and ultimately fall away from the surface. If you do not remove the mould before re-painting you are dramatically reducing the life of your new paint job. Even sanding the house will not remove all the mould spores.
Our cleaning solution will kill mould and prepare the surface for painting, therefore helping to prolong the life of the paint. Quite often once our customers have undergone a house wash treatment they end up cancelling their painter due to the dramatic improvement in colour and brightness – up to three times brighter! This occurs because microscopic mould spores are removed for the paint during our cleans.
Will pressure cleaning damage my surfaces?
We can adjust the pressure to suit the conditions of the surfaces. If you have concerns, please talk to us about them.
